A Blustery Day

Hi Friends,

The snow squalls have set in - yet again. This is normal for the area I live in as the high winds from the Great Lakes blow the snow and sometimes the squalls in producing white out conditions.  There are currently a few road closures around the area, I'm hoping tomorrow will bring better weather.  I do love being out in the country though, staring out the windows at the blowing snow while being safe and sound in a warm home.

Poor Katie...she loves the snow but not when it's like this.  It was all I could do to push her outside to do her "doggy deed".  As you can tell, she wasn't impressed.

Spring is starting to look really good about now.  How many more weeks?

This poor rocking chair didn't get brought in from the porch before winter set in.  The blowing snow gave it a nice wintery coating today.

Thanks for stopping by!

  4. My dog just loves the snow! He gets entirely crazy, running and jumping, burying his face until his whole head disappears. It is so much fun to watch. Stay cozy!

  5. It really does look blustery and cold there. Oh my goodness, it's beautiful! We are supposed to get some snow tomorrow night and into Saturday. There are really going to be some disappointed and sad children if the weatherman is wrong...and they usually are when it comes to snow here in NC. We all get so excited! I am ready for spring though.

  6. Winter is always beautiful from the inside or at least on a non-blustery day for a walk. Our dog is very quick when it's this cold and since he's old, lays in his cozy bed all day.
    Stay warm.

If we get a few inches , we are crippled in Ms.. Can't drive on the stuff, and if I could, the other fellow would kill us.lol We too live in the country, and it sure makes the snow stay longer , doesn't it?

  8. Poor Katie..I don't blame her. My Madi wants to go out but as soon as I open the door if it's raining or really cold, she backs up and won't go out. Snow is pretty and I love to see all the photo's on my blog friend that lives up North. We are suppose to get a wintry mix with some snow tomorrow night..hope they got it wrong!
    Stay warm!

  10. Sometimes it's hard to believe that we live in the same province! All our snow here is gone. I agree with the others that it's best to enjoy the snow from the cozy indoors!

  11. Poor Katie! I feel for her...would not want to go there either. However the snow pics do look nice. No snow on this side of the lakes. I work in Port Huron, MI which is at the bottom of Lake Huron. We did have some snow squalls the other day, but not like you had. Hope you have a nice weekend! Janice

  12. Wow you did get a lot of snow, love the barn picture with the hazy view. poor guy, I use to have to shovel a path for our dog before she would go out in the snow. I am also counting down the days until spring, I don't like walking or driving in the slippery stuff

  13. This winter is sure looking like it is going to be long and brutal. I live in Eastern Ontario where we are buried in snow. I swear I have about three feet in my yard. The back porch is full to the railings. My family in Hamilton tell me they have NONE. How can that be? And in Peterborough, the Under The Locks hockey tournament is at risk because there is no outdoor ice! It was -30 here last night!!!!!!!

We are in southwestern Ontario near lake Erie and all though it has been cold and windy we haven't had much snow accumulation but have had lots of white outs we have a dusting of snow and that's it . Today it is cold but sunny it sure is nice to see the sun for a change . Hope the snow stops for you soon and gives you all a break . They say next week here will be mild and rain then we will be back to greenness till the next snow fly's . Thanks for sharing lovely photos , Have a good weekend and stay cozy !

  17. It's snowing around your neck of the woods! It looks like a big of fog too. The snow must look beautiful, and this is a sweet picture of your dog. Thanks for sharing these snow pics, as I don't get to see it here where I live unless I drive an hour away to the mountain area. :)

    Stay warm and cozy inside.

  18. Ooh, that wind just makes me feel cold! We don't have the wind here, which is a huge blessing of where we live! The snow just gently falls, and it is so gorgeous. I am so thankful for that small blessing! Your snow pictures look very very cold and miserable, lol! It has been quite cold here, down in the minuses for over two weeks straight. It is supposed to warm up some this week though :) Hugs to you today!

  19. The snow is lovely in your photos, but poor Katie. We have a tiny little terrier/Chihuahua mix who would freeze in conditions like you had. That is a wonderful photo of your rocking chair.
