Far Too Long

Hi friends,

I recently looked at the date of my last post, my how time flies.  I have missed all of you!  I also miss blogging.  Life has gotten a little crazy again the last few months and I don't know when it's going to get back to normal.  So in the mean time, I thought I would do a little post to help me "feel" like things are normal haha.

Recently, my brother Randy and sister-in-law, Debbie, from She Graces Her Home had come for another visit, parking their motor home at my Dad's home.  They try to make it each year in order for Randy and my Dad to compete in the World Crokinole Championships in Tavistock, Ontario, Canada.  Randy usually wins a prize for coming the furthest distance, my Dad wins the oldest player (age 90 this year).  This year they had a special treat by winning first place in the Recreational Doubles - well worth the trip for Randy.

While they were visiting, Debbie and I always try to get out for a girl's day and this year we were able to squeeze in another one.  During her last visit, we missed a store that I thought she would really enjoy and I definitely wanted to take her back to The Cluttered Cupboard also.  As soon as you step through the door, you can hear the gentle music playing and smell the wonderful scent of a candle burning - how inviting!  Do you think the owner would have a problem if I moved in?  LOL.

If you look closely, you can see Debbie in this next photo.

Prior to arriving at The Cluttered Cupboard, we stopped at a few garage sales along the way.  What fun!  So many times we found ourselves standing or sitting somewhere, just talking away the time.  We were lucky to get to our destination.  Oh how we both love to talk when we're together.  We haven't seen each other for a year so there's always a lot to catch up on.

While there, we picked up our "gourmet" lunch from the Frosty Freeze lol and took it down to the lake.  We sat and enjoyed the view near the old train station.

As usual, our day consisted of purchasing a little something.  I picked up this cute "vintage looking" metal storage bin at The Cluttered Cupboard.

Debbie surprised me with this adorable little creamer.  She knows I love white.  Isn't it sweet?

I also found this cute chicken at a garage sale.  I believe Debbie was looking at it first but she insisted that I get it instead.  She picked up the matching rooster.  It's always nice to purchase something that reminds us of our day together for many years to come.  If you would like to read more about Randy and Debbie's vacation, head over to Debbie's blog for a visit.  She would love to have you.

We call him THE BUNNY WHISPERER.  While picking up Debbie for our little excursion, I visited with my brother and Binx.  Isn't he beautiful?  He is a big boy.  Randy has such a way with bunnies that they often fall asleep in his lap.

Aren't these the most beautiful feet?

At a later visit to our home, Copper (a.k.a. Mr. Bunny) also enjoyed a visit with Randy.  He is also fast asleep.  What a lucky bunny to have spent more time with The Bunny Whisperer.

Thank you for dropping in.  I promise...I will do my best to blog a little more regularly.

Note - Debbie had knee replacement surgery today and I know so many of you have been praying for her.  I haven't heard anything yet but I'm hoping everything went well.  Thank you for your prayers.  (I thought I would leave this note in...literally less than 5 minutes after typing this, Debbie sent me a text to state she has already been released from the hospital and is doing well.  We are thrilled!)

    4. Hi Margie, so good to hear from you. I miss popping over to your wonderful blog. I don't seem to get down to Southwestern Ontario much at all, it has definitely been awhile. I came from Southern Ontario but don't seem to get over to that specific area either LOL.

  2. Hi Kelly! Stephanie told me that you posted and I just had to come for a visit. So good to see you out!
Great post and awesome photos of our day away. Your chicken cleaned up nicely. 😉
Im loving mine in the kitchen window and reminded of our special day together.
Thank you for those kind words and prayers on my knee surgery. I'm actually feeling very well today, though I was told by the doctor that Thursday will be the day of pain and discomfort.
I'm hoping to get a short post up with an up date tonight.

    Much Love to you ❤

    1. Hi Debbie, I definitely enjoyed creating a post again. It's so hard to concentrate with the kids running around. I'm hoping you won't be in the pain the doctor expects for tomorrow. You'll be running up the mountain in no time I bet LOL. Praying that you will heal quickly. Love Kelly.

  4. It's good to see you back! Oh my gosh, those rabbits are adorable. I could sure use your brother's help with my bunnies. I have four, and cannot pick or hold either one of them. I talk to them and pet them but can't hold them. Your brother sounds amazing. I like the little metal storage bin!

    1. Hi Henny, I'm thrilled to have you stop by. What a shame that you can't hold your bunnies. They are so sweet aren't they? Ours has a great temperament although he has been known to have a little bit of a temper at times haha. I'm sure yours have an amazing home and lots of love given to them. My brother is truly amazing with the bunnies, he seems to have a special touch. Take care!

    1. Hi Cindy, so glad to hear from you. We truly did have a special time, it always ends too quickly. It was a toss up between the storage container and a craft. As I was undecided, Debbie convinced me to buy the container. I'm so glad she did! Hugs and blessings to you.

  6. Oh, how wonderful to see a post from you! I love the looks and sounds of the stores you and Debbie visited. I am sure you had a wonderful day together. I have been praying for her and trying to find time to head over to her blog to read her update. I am SO thankful it sounds like all is well for her. Those bunnies falling asleep like that are something else! That is so neat. God bless you, Kelly.

  7. Hi Cheryl, thanks for dropping in. Debbie and I had an amazing time together. She is a very special person and I always enjoy spending time with her. Too bad she lives so far away. I haven't had a chance to drop by your blog yet. My grandchildren have been with us for a few months and it's a little crazy here. Hope you're doing well, take care.

  8. Kelley, I am so glad you stopped by, I didn't get my notice that you had posted, I signed up by email again so hopefully I will get your next post :) I am glad you shared your time with Debbie with us and good to know she made it through surgery ok. I love the goodies you two found, I went to a store a lot like this one around here not too long ago and I ended up with a pretty bird to put inside my bird cage I found a couple years ago at a sale. Looks like you two had perfect weather and I just loved those little bunny feet, too cute!

  9. I hope Debbie is recovering properly from her surgery.
I would love to shop at that cute little store, it reminds me so much of a place we used to have here that I miss so much.
The bunny feet are so cute! Your brother must be a very comforting guy, I've never seen a bunny relax with a person like that.
I hope you're enjoying the summer and I'm sure we'll all do more blogging in the winter months.

  10. Happy Birthday to your Dad; my Dad turned 90 last month, Mom turns 84 this month and they celebrate their 67th wedding anniversary. Great examples all!

  11. Hi Sandra, thank you so much for dropping in. I guess I should do a post although I haven't been up to it. I lost my dad on October 6 of this year, although he has had health issues in the past, it was still unexpected. He had recently celebrated his 91st birthday so that in itself is amazing. My parents were married 64 years before my mom passed away. It's wonderful to see your parents reach 67 years, wow!!! That is a lifetime isn't it? Thank you so much for the birthday wishes to my dad.
