The Vintage Sewing Box

I would love to tell you about a gift I received from hubby this past Christmas.  It's a wonderful vintage sewing box.  I just think it's so cute and I can't wait to start using it for my crafty creations. From what I have been able to determine, it is a 1950's to 1960's Danish sewing box.  Has anyone else seen one of these before and know the history of it?  I am interested in knowing more about it.  I just love vintage and antique items, especially the wooden ones.  It is definitely a weakness of mine.

I am hoping to get back to crafting shortly.  I had more or less stepped away from it for a few years but am just itching to get back at it.  I did make some crafts this past Fall which was so enjoyable. The hardest part is getting started.  Once that happens I have problems stopping (or sleeping, lol, with all the ideas running through my mind).  At this point I am seriously considering setting up an Etsy shop but am still researching it at this point.  Stay tuned...

These are just some of the crafts that I have been working on in the last while.

My helper is at it again.

Thank you for stopping by, I hope you enjoyed your time as much as I did.

  2. Hi there! I'm visiting from The Enchanting Rose and wanted to stop in and welcome you to blogland. :) Love, love your vintage sewing box! It's such a beautiful treasure, and I like how the drawers pivot out for a good view of the contents. I have one of similar style, American made though, that I am looking forward to putting into service, too. Love the primitive pillows, also.
    Have a lovely week!

  8. Oh, how thankful I am to welcome you to the blogging world, dear Kelly! I am visiting from sweet Stephanie's blog, "Enchanting Rose". Through God's providence, I "met" both Stephanie and her precious mother, Debbie, this past year, and they have both become SO dear to my heart! How ecstatic I was to find that you love primitives!!!!! Oh, my! They are my favorite way of decorating! I LOVE old things! Their history, the way they have stood the test of time, the stories they could tell, if only they could speak! I love your sewing box and wish I could shed some light on it, but alas, I cannot! I so look forward to following along with you and seeing what wonderful crafts you create. I love the things you made here. I can see that we will definitely be friends, and I pray God blesses you on this blogging journey. A big WELCOME to you!!!!!

  11. Oh, I sure miss country décor. My sister's house was filled with it, and still loves it today. I'm coming over from dear Stephanie's blog. This vintage sewing box is a treasure. I thought of my mom when I saw it, as she used to make all my clothes growing up.

Welcome to the blog world, and I'll be back to check out some of your current posts again.

  16. Oh I just love your sewing box, though can't offer any information. Your crafts are so sweet and homey. Your country setting is gorgeous. We moved to a country setting 12 years ago and just love it.

  17. What a neat sewing box! Love the compartments to help keep things neat. I take the divide and conquer approach to messes. I can't get rid of everything, but I can divide and separate until my drawers no longer seem like a mess! You decorated it nicely--even the cat sort of matches the rug under the sewing box. Welcome to the blogging world...visiting from Stephanie's blog!
